Like Jonah, Nate grew up on the Upper West Side, running around town seeking out the best slice of pizza, bagels and sandwiches at a young age. After launching a start-up take out joint during his college years at the University of Pennsylvania, Nate found himself back in his hometown bussing tables at Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. Soon enough he became a member of the opening management team at Blue Smoke Battery Park City, working his way up to Beverage Director at both locations. In February, Nate partnered up with Jonah on the restaurant, joining the Huertas team as General Manager and Beverage Director.
In January 2019, Nate is opening Gertie, an all-day restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
